KCIS Display Gardens

Highline SeaTac Botanical Garden

The King County Iris Society display garden at the Highline SeaTac Botanical Gardens includes examples of most types of iris.  This display bed, maintained to KCIS volunteers, is also one of the resources for our rhizome sales in August and September. The best time to visit to view iris in bloom is in spring, generally April into June.  KCIS also participates in is the HSBG Spring Plant Sale and other events throughout the summer.  Be sure to check out the HSBG website for more information and excellent directions.

Lake Wilderness Arboretum

The King County Iris Society is working with the Lake Wilderness Arboretum by donating Pacific Coast Iris hybrids to share the Smith-Mossman Western Azalea Garden with the species azaleas planted there. Lake Wilderness Arboretum is also host for one of the iris gardens to be on tour for the upcoming Region 13 Spring Convention in 2012.
